Fludiazepam is a psychotherapeutic drug usually prescribed for short-term relief of anxiety symptoms like headaches, insomnia, fatigue, dizziness, shortness of breath, restlessness, trouble concentrating, muscle tension, or irritability. Because of its mechanism of action and sedative, anxiolytic and skeletal muscle relaxant properties, Fludiazepam can also be prescribed for other conditions if your doctor thinks it will work well for them. However, it's very important that you take it exactly as prescribed and avoid sharing with other people. You should talk to your doctor if you have severe liver disease, severe breathing problem, sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, or narrow-angle glaucoma.

What needs to be done before Fludiazepam is started

Never share your regular dose of Fludiazepam with people to whom it was not prescribed, as they may not get the same benefits you do due to their individual intolerance to this medicine.

Fludiazepam side effects from mild to serious

Some side effects of Fludiazepam may appear at the beginning of your treatment. While serious side effects are unlikely, mild side effects of Fludiazepam can be experienced at the beginning of the treatment. They can include headache, blurred vision, dry mouth, memory problems, slurred speech, skin rash, nightmares, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, drooling, constipation, drowsiness, loss of interest in sex, or muscle weakness. If you get any serious side effects of Fludiazepam, make sure you report them to your health care provider right away. The following ones are some of serious side effects reported by patients using Fludiazepam: hyperactivity, body aches, depressed mood, tremor, yellowing of the skin or eyes, hostility, double vision, hallucinations, shallow breathing, muscle twitching, confusion, suicidal thoughts, agitation, urinating less than usual, unusual thoughts or behavior, or anxiety. Talking to your doctor about Fludiazepam interactions

Make sure you always tell your health care provider about other drugs you are using, like ketoconazole, barbiturates, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid, narcotic medications, psychiatric disorder medicine, selegiline, omeprazole, phenelzine, rasagiline, antidepressants, phenytoin, or cimetidine. While you may still take Fludiazepam along with sedatives, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, cold or allergy medicine, depression or anxiety medications, narcotic pain medicine, or seizure medications, your doctor will need to adjust your doses.

Is it safe to take Fludiazepam when I am pregnant?

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should be very cautions when it comes to taking Fludiazepam regularly. No matter which trimester it is used in, Fludiazepam can cause serious birth defects in the baby. You must talk to your doctor if you are pregnant at the moment of starting Fludiazepam. Your doctor will probably tell you to postpone the treatment, or you will have to go for an alternative treatment. Breastfeeding is not recommended because of Fludiazepam passing into breast milk.

An overdose of Fludiazepam

An overdose of Fludiazepam can be very dangerous, which is why you need to have all the symptoms treated as soon as they appear (presumably after you have taken too much of Fludiazepam). The following ones are possible: limp or weak muscles, extreme drowsiness, breathing that stops, fainting, shallow breathing, or confusion. Missing Fludiazepam dose

If you miss your doses of Fludiazepam often, this may affect your treatment in the long term. In case you happened to miss your dose just once, take it right away unless you will be taking another one soon. In that case, it's always best that you skip that missed Fludiazepam dose and go back to the regular treatment schedule.
